event planning & marketing
i’ve led and supported a wide range of events that connect people and build community, from charity fundraisers and recruitment nights to vendor fairs and esports tournaments. whether digital or in-person, my focus is on creating inclusive, well-branded experiences with strong visuals and clear communication.
my event planning work includes:
usc games expo – marvel rivals tournament (spring 2025)
in april 2025, fresno state esports was invited to compete in the usc games expo — a high-profile collegiate showcase featuring teams from schools like usc, sdsu, and occidental college. while we weren’t the host, i coordinated fresno state’s presence both on and off the stage.

on the logistics side, i:
– recruited players for our marvel rivals team
– maintained clear communication with usc organizers to stay up to date on scheduling and rules
– handled day-of coordination to ensure our team was prepped, on time, and supported throughout the event
on the promotional side, i built and launched a full campaign to highlight our participation:
– created a custom instagram feed post featuring luna snow, illustrated by our team’s art director
– posted a match schedule graphic and livestream link via instagram stories
– edited a high-energy announcement video in after effects and premiere pro, complete with voiceover from one of our players
the campaign focused on community engagement and visibility, drawing attention to fresno state’s role in a high-level collegiate tournament and celebrating the work of our players and creative team.
hypetown 2024
on november 5th, 2024, i had the privilege of being part of hypetown, an exciting lan (local area network) event where fresno state’s all-female and nonbinary academy valorant team, fresno state iris, competed in an exhilarating exhibition valorant match.
as a key contributor to the experiential marketing efforts, i helped plan and advertise the event, ensuring it reached students and the broader community. this involved creating engaging promotional content and utilizing various channels to spread the word and build excitement.
the event focused on celebrating diversity and fostering a sense of community. in addition to the live show match, there were multiple interactive activities that kept guests entertained and engaged throughout the evening.
one of the most rewarding aspects of the event was that we raised $300 for st. jude children's research hospital. it felt great to be part of something that not only brought people together through gaming but also contributed to such an important cause.
vintage days – blue shell gaming & anime gaming con (2023–2025)
2023 – assistant (intern, esports)

as the media & content intern, i supported the launch of the blue shell gaming arena, in collaboration with blue shell, a pop culture and retro gaming space within fresno state’s annual vintage days. i assisted with social media content, on-site event setup, and crowd engagement, gaining hands-on experience in experiential marketing and event coordination. i also assisted in running two large-scale giveaways: an aimlabs competition with a custom jersey prize and a movie ticket raffle

2024 – director of diversity & inclusion (director, esports)

in 2024, the event collaborated with fresno's anime gaming con, and i took on a leadership role as director of diversity & inclusion. i helped rebrand the space to be more welcoming to marginalized gamers and fandoms. my work focused on inclusive programming, accessible design, and developing giveaways that drew in broader audiences, including older attendees and pc gamers. i also collaborated on marketing strategy and visual assets.

2025 – lead event coordinator (leader, esports)

in 2025, i held the position of the student leader and fully led the planning and creative direction for anime gaming con. i managed the development of all digital and print promotions, built the social media calendar, and directed day-of logistics. i also ran a giveaway for a movie ticket raffle. the result was one of the most successful activations of vintage days, drawing hundreds of visitors and high engagement across platforms.
